The beautiful Wedgewood blue and white wedding cake has been completed at Cadby Hall as Lyons' gift to Princess Elizabeth and Lt Philip Mountbatten, R.N. The cake, 3 tiered and mounted on a silver stand and terraces, has blue and white Japper vases in Wedgwood set in how coats behind silver pillars at the 4 corners of the first and 2nd tiers. Satin panels on the front of each tier represent the princesses coat of arms, the initials "E. P" under a Crown, and a naval Crown. The cake is the work of Mr FE Jacobs, chief decorator of the Cadby Hall ornamental Department, he also made Lyons wedding cakes for the Duchess of Kent and Duchess of Gloucester.
