Mr Bevin signs five peace treaties. Peace treaties which, when ratified by the Government of the Great Powers will bring a formal end to hostilities with Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Finland, was signed by Foreign Secretary the Rt Hon Ernest Bevin at the Foreign Office, London, this morning (Tuesday). The documents, on which the Foreign Ministers Council laboured for 14 months, have been travelling thousands of miles by air in the charge of diplomatic couriers. They have already been flown from Washington to London via Moscow and will go on to Paris for the official ceremony next Monday.
