Mr Arthur Deakin, General Secretary of the Transport and General Workers Union, who this morning (Sunday) , met leaders of the unofficial strike of London's transport workers at Stratford, failed to persuade the men to return to work. Plans made by the Transport of Food, Ministers to bring troops in tomorrow to ease the situation was shelved, but this afternoon service personnel were reported.
