Making his last appearance As Chief of the Imperial General Staff, Field Marshal Lord Alan Brooke took the salute at the Royal military College, Sandhurst, Passing out Parade. He told 500 officer cadets to know their jobs, and to fit themselves for a better one and to learn how to handle men. Swords of honour for the most outstanding performances were presented to Officer Cadet B.W. Bateman of Grove road, Stratford-upon-Avon, and to Officer Cadet AM Cameron, of Edinburgh. Two medallions for cadets making the most progress during the course went to U.S. Merritt of Newcastle and D.G. Lashmar of Middlesex.
