Veteran Photographer Receives Award For His Picture Of Nina. Veteran Fleet Street photographer George Frankland, of PA Reuter Photos, receives from the Paymaster-General, Sir Walter Monckton, the second prize award in the news picture section of the British Press Pictures of the Year contest, sponsored by the Encyclopaedia Britannica and the Institute of British Photographers. The presentation was made this evening at the Savoy Hotel, London. Frankland's award, his fifth in the competition, was for his picture of the Russian athlete Nina Ponomareva after she had appeared at Marlborough Street court on October 12 to answer shop-lifting charges.
