This is 20-year-old Philip Kgosana, who led a march of 30,000 Africans on Cape Town, and was jailed by a police trick. He led the crowd to the police station, where he was invited inside to discuss their demands for the release of their leaders, with Justice Minister Erasmus. He led the Africans home peacefully after telling them he had the assurance of the Police Chief Colonel Terblanche, but he would get an appointment with Justice Minister Erasmus. He went back and instead of seeing Erasmus, he and his Lieutenants were arrested. 2 April 1960
