The People ' s revolution in Russia . In the streets of Petrograd . A body of insurgent soldiers marching to the Duma with their flags on which the words " Down with the monarchy " can be made out . Men of the Siberian Rifles and Cossacks are among the regiments represented . The soldiers , for the most part , joined the people and refused to fire upon them when ordered to do so by their officers . 7 April 1917
