Spitfire , the baby polar bear which is still in the cuddly stage , eagerly laps honey from the tin offered by children's zoo supervisor Pauline England , aged 21 , at Whipsnade Zoo, Bedfordshire . The cub, a recent arrival from Germany, got its name from its bad tempered demonstrations when it reached its English home . But it has settled in and become much tamer . 20th April 1956
