Lady Londonderry turns Park Lane home into recruiting depot for women volunteers . Rooms in which royalty are entertained at Londonderry House , Park Lane , London have been turned by Lady Londonderry into a recruiting depot for the mechanical transport section of the Women's Legion . Lady Londonderry is herself enrolling women motor transport drivers - all of whom are experts . Lady Londonderry is president of the mechanical transport section of the Legion and her new recruiting depot will relieve congestion at the Legion's headqaurters , where women are being enrolled for other work . The Women's Legion was started during the Great War and has been retained ever since on a reserve basis .
