22854 First London Pole Squatting Contest Seated on an 18 inch square seat on top of a pole ten feet tall, seven competitors (men and women) have commenced a pole squatting endurance record attempt at the Forest Gate Rink, the first time such a freak endurance contest has taken place in England. Meals, washing and shaving take place publicly while the competitor remains squatting on top of the pole. So great is the interest that crowds flock to the rink and pay to watch.
