Reaching the high notes in their microphone debut at Broadcasting House in London today ( Tuesday ) are youthful sopranos Myra de Groot aged 13 of Ilford in Essex ( left ) and Barbara Budmani 14 from Camden Road in North London With Roy Arscott 13 of Romford in Essex ( at the piano ) they went on the air in the First Attempts section of the Children's Hour programme With other performers they had to pass a stringent test before they finally were allowed to broadcast February 14th 1950
