Sergeant Major James Barrett, at present attached to the 2nd Division Military Mounted Police, Aldershot. He was the first military policeman to win the D.C.L. during the war. This he won at Greluvelt on Nov 2nd, 1914, He also has the 2nd class of George Medal, the meritorious service medal and was mentioned in despatches. Sergent Major Barrwett completes twenty one years service on January 28th, 1921
