Belfast, Northern Ireland: British Home Secretary, Mr James Callaghan, (holding loudhailer), as he addressed enthusiastic crowds from the window of a private home during his visit to the Roman Catholic Bogside area of Londonderry today. Mr Callaghan was forced to seek shelter in the house when the Bogside residents swarmed around the British Minister shortly after his arrival from Belfast to tour the Catholic and Protestant areas of the city. Mr Callaghan visited Bogside after telling militant protestants leader Rev. Ian Paisley to stop making inflammatory Statements. Mr Callaghan is on a three day fact finding visit oft Ulster which follows in the wake of the recent riots between warring Catholic and Protestant factions in the County's Major cities 28 August 1969
