Policemen restrain a youth who threatened to jump from a window at Endell Street School here early this morning after an estimated 300 Policemen rushed the disused school and evicted the two hundred hippies and squatters. Six van loads of police from the mobile riot squad roared into the street with blazing headlights. Ladders were put up to a metal balcony and police streamed up them into the building. The raid came minutes after the deadline the hippies had been predicting all day. Yesterday a Judge granted a High Court writ ordering the squatters to leave 'forthwith' and warned them they could be prosecuted for criminal conspiracy and jailed. 25th September 1969 .
