Rudolph Hantke, holder of the New York Metropolitan 25 mile walking record, walked from New York to Los Angeles, averaging thirty miles a day to condition himself for the walking events of the Olympic Games. He will finish his training in Los Angeles for the 50,000 metre walk in the Olympic Games.
