This picture, just received in London, shows, the British blockhouse held by the Welsh Fusiliers in north Thibet road, Shanghai, almost on top of the warehouse where the Chinese 'doomed battlelion', a refuse to retreat, besieged by 40,000 Japanese. The Japanese commander has notified the British post that he intends to bomb the isolated Chinese from the air and burn down their warehouse. The British soldiers have posted farewell letters handed to them by the Chinese, and some reports state that the British have been smuggling food to the Chinese. 29 October 1937
