Arsenal's new 'hope' practices at Highbury. Welsh international, from Coventry. Leslie Jenkins Jones, former Aberdare Butcher boy who recently gained his sixth cap for Wales, has been signed on by Arsenal and is now practising at Highbury for the match against Grimsby tomorrow (Saturday). Arsenal paid a large transfer fee to Coventry City for Jones and also gave Davidson, their Scottish inside forward in part exchange. It is now hoped that Arsenal will break the spell of bad luck. They have not won a match for a month. 5 November 1937
