Birmingham's gifts to her HMS Birmingham presented at Portsmouth. HMS Birmingham received a number of presentations at Portsmouth from the City of Birmingham. The gifts, including a set of silver bugles, a silken ensign and various pieces of plate, were handed to captain EJP Brind, commanding officer of HMS Birmingham by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Mr Ernest Robert Canning.
