They invited the King to tea , during Duchy tour . The King received an invitation to tea from Mr and Mrs Hempsted , when he visited their house in Aquinas Street ,near Westminster Bridge , during his tour of the Duchy of Cornwall estates in South london . The King , owing to lack of time , was unable to accept the invitation but thanked Mr and Mrs Hempsted and congratulated them on their home . He accepted two dolls for the Princesses . Photo shows , Mr and Mrs Hampsted with their children , Albert , Derek and Hazel at their Aquinas Street home . 17 March 1937
