Two women, one wearing a cross pendant and both wearing fashionable pointed toe shoes, walk past Au Tonneau, an old cafe selling Alsatian beer. A metal sign on a stand outside the cafe advertises Pecheur Biere d'Alsace and depicts a boy wearing a traditional Alsatian costume sitting on a barrel drinking beer out of a beer mug. The boy is the petit bonhomme Fischer - the happy boy - called Fischermannele from a design dating as far back as 1925 and certainly a famous icon from 1930. In the background is a projecting shop sign advertising Jaz clocks with the jaseur de Boheme (Bohemian waxwing) logo and another projecting shop sign for Bijoux Murat, a famous French jewellery brand. Paris, France, 1963.
