Eager as schoolboys for their Christmas pudding are the gallant old pensioners of Chelsea Royal Hospital, and the ceremony of mixing the traditional dish is observed with due solemnity. All the good things normally found in Christmas puddings, will be included with one exception, - since one excited pensioners swallowed a coin 20 years ago, there will be no sixpences "by request" in Chelsea puddings. Picture shows: left to right, 75-year-old Sapper Harry Kybett of Rochester, stirs the pudding mixture assisted by six-year-old Francis Witts, son of the Lieutenant Governor of the hospital and four-year-old Carol Smith, while pensioners watch today. 11 December 1947
