2013; China; Hebei; Beijing; Eastern Qing Tombs (Qingdongling); Tomb of Princess Dowager Cixi; concubine of Emperor Xianfeng died; she became Empress of China under the Qing Dynasty. This tomb was rebuilt in 1895 on the orders of Empress Cixi. In front of the Palace of Eminent Favor a carved stone where the phoenix (symbol of the Empress) dominates the dragon (symbol of the Emperor).
