Oberageri; Switzerland; skull relic of St. Benigni. Little is known about the history of the relic. It is presumably the skull of a suspected martyr from the Roman Catacombs. It sits in a large reliquary on the right side of the nave of the parish church; containing small bones from numerous other saints and martyrs. It is covered with a heavy; opaque fabric which obscures details of the skulls. Jewels are added to create the details of a face. Photo 2012.
