Ursberg; Germany; detail of small relic package in St. Getreu shrine. The former Norbertine convent in acquired three skeletons of presumed martyrs from the Roman Catacombs during the 17th and 18th centuries; but also acquired at least two partial relics; which are included in the bottom part of St. Getreu's shrine. There are two funerary plaques set into the lower wall; presumably naming the relics--they are Martina and Benerose (this relic is above the latter's plaque). Through the window here; part of an elaborately decorated skull and various other bones can be seen. Photo 2012.
