Rheinau; Switzerland; St. Basilius shrine. The shrine is shown open; but the wings can be closed to conceal the relic. The bones of a presumed martyr from the Roman Catacombs arrived in the town's monastery church in the 1640s. The bones were never articulated; but put into a shrine on a side altar. The skull; which was wrapped in thin fabric and jeweled; is in the center compartment. Photo 2012.
