Faro; Portugal; bone shrine at cathedral. In addition to a charnel house at the local Carmelite church; Faro's cathedral also has a bone-decorated shrine in its courtyard. There is no charnel house present; but a building on the grounds is suspected of possibly having been one in the past. The shrine is outdoors and in deteriorated condition. It probably dates from the mid-19th century. In the niche; Christ is shown blessing. Photo 2010
