Glatiramer acetate. Molecular model of the drug glatiramer acetate (C25.H45.N5.O13). This is immunomodulator drug currently used to treat multiple sclerosis is, sold under the brand name Copaxone. It is a random polymer of four amino acids found in myelin basic protein, namely glutamic acid, lysine, alanine, and tyrosine, and may work as a decoy for the immune system. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (white), nitrogen (blue) and oxygen (red).
