5359. Tell El-Amarna is ancient Akhetaten; the capital of Amenhotep IV (c. 1352 - 1338) on the east bank of Nile between Thebes and Memphis. A group of nearly 400 cueniform tablets were found in the location; composing a large royal archive of the Egyptian kings of that period. The tablet on the picture shows a letter sent to Amenhotep III by the king of Cyprus regards attacks by Cypriots on some Egyptian villages.
