Apollo Lunar Module environmental control system, illustration. The Apollo Lunar Module was used to land astronauts on the surface of the Moon and support their activities on the lunar surface. The environmental control (life support) system included systems for cooling and ventilating the cabin and the pressure suits worn by the astronauts, regulation of oxygen supply and cabin pressure, water management, and prevention of overheating of electronic equipment.
