Lepocinclis acus euglenoid protists and (3) Chlamydomonas sp. green algae, focused onto the surface of the cells to show the stripes of the pellicle of Lepocinclis. Lepocinclis acus are elongated euglenoids with one red eyespot, several lenticular green chloroplasts and several transparent, uncolored, rod-shaped paramylon grains.
