Dream Chaser spaceplane testing. Dream Chaser spaceplane being prepared for 60 mph tow tests on taxi and runways. This reusable crewed suborbital and orbital lifting-body spaceplane is being developed by Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) Space Systems and is designed to carry up to seven people to and from low Earth orbit. It is designed to launch vertically on an Atlas V rocket and land on conventional runways. This ground testing is done to help validate the performance of the spacecraft's braking and landing systems prior to captive-carry and free-flight tests. Photographed at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards Air Force Base, California, USA.
