Changing night sky. Sequence of images taken 10 minutes apart, showing the changing appearance of the night sky after the sun has set on the horizon. As time progresses (from left to right), the stars of the Milky Way are increasingly visible and the pale glow of zodiacal light on the horizon becomes stronger. Zodiacal light is sunlight reflected from dust particles orbiting in the plane of the solar system. Venus (bright spot, centre) is also visible. Photographed in France.
