Light microscopy of white matter of the brain. White matter is comprised of myelinated nerves seen here as many axons with myelin sheaths. Occasional blood vessels are seen. The small round cell nuclei are oligodendrocytes that produce myelin in the central nervous system. The occasional larger cell nuclei are neurons. Magnification x 400 when printed at 10cm.
