Anderson (1899-1985), and US nutrition researcher Floyd Shelton Doft (1900-1978). Sebrell was director of the National Institutes of Health from 1950 to 1955. Houssay shared the 1947 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for work on how pituitary hormones control sugar metabolism. Anderson was chief of the Endocrinology Section at the National Institute of Arthritis and Metabolic Disease (NIAMD). Doft (previously Daft) was director of the NIAMD.
