AIDS-related lesions on the back of an ARC patient due to seborrhoeic dermatitis. Dermatitis is inflammation of the skin, while seborrhea is the abnormal discharge of sebum that can form greasy scales. This disorder has developed as an AIDS- related complex (ARC), a precursor to full AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome). In Africa, lack of access to drugs and information makes AIDS a major public health concern.
