Medieval astrology. 14th-century artworks from a medieval astrology treatise. A crowned figure and horses are across top, with a fish head. Blacksmiths are across centre. Across bottom is an executioner, with a star and the head of a whale-like sea creature (ceti). These artworks are part of a medieval edition of a treatise by the 9th-century Islamic astrologer Albumazar. The text is in Latin. This edition, produced in the Netherlands, dates from the 2nd or 3rd quarter of the 14th century.
