Extraction of an embryo of an American cockroach (Periplaneta americana) from a 6-day egg case to be sectioned so that the migration of the mycetomes may be observed. These cockroaches are characterised by the presence of endosymbionts located in particular cells of the fat body called bacteriocytes.
