Benjamin Stillingfleet (1702-1771), British botanist. Stillingfleet studied at the University of Cambridge's Trinity College, graduating in 1723. His work with others included geological studies and travels with William Windham, and botanical publication work with William Hudson. His own works include 'Miscellaneous Tracts Relating to Natural History, Husbandry and Physick' (1759). A posthumous work 'Literary life and select works of Benjamin Stillingfleet' (1811) included poetry, natural history and agriculture. A genus of plants (Stillingia) was named in his honour.
