Protoceratops skeleton. Protoceratops was a small herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaur that inhabited what is now central Asia between 85 and 80 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period. It reached a maximum length of around two metres. Photographed at the In the Shadow of the Dinosaurs exhibition at the National Museum of Natural History, Paris, France, in 2011.
