White hole. Conceptual computer artwork of a white hole and grid lines representing space-time. A white hole is a hypothetical object that is the mathematical opposite of a black hole. Matter is drawn into a black hole and would be ejected from a white hole, possibly passing through a wormhole in the process. However, the mathematics of this concept are considered suspect. Space-time is the unified framework of space and time that arises from the fact that space and time are not invariant. They actually vary with an object's velocity, especially near the speed of light and around large masses such as a white hole. Hence space and time must be treated as space-time.
