Voyager 1 image of clouds in the atmosphere of Jupiter, just to the south-east of the giant planet's Great Red Spot. The view was recorded on March 4, 1979, at a distance of 1.8 million kilometres (1.1 million miles). Differences in cloud colour may indicate relative heights of the cloud layers. The smallest clouds seen in the picture are approximately 30 km (20 miles) across.
