Garabit viaduct. View of the ironwork of the Pont de Garabit. This bridge was built between 1800 and 1884 by Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923), who was also responsible for the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, and parts of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbour, USA. The bridge is a viaduct in the shape of a large arch spanning 168 metres over the river Truyere in Southern France.
