Kuala Lumpur city centre. The capital city of Malaysia seen here by satellite. In the centre of the image can been seen the Petronas Towers. These skyscrapers have 88 stories and are 452 metres tall, including the 73.8 metre spires at their top. They are, in 2004, the second tallest buildings in the world after the 509 metre tall 101 Tower in Taipei, Taiwan. This image was taken by the Ikonos satellite, the first commercial satellite to collect data at one-metre resolution.
