MODEL RELEASED. Glass recycling. Mother and child put a green glass bottle in a bottle bank for recycling. Differently-coloured glass is put in different containers to aid the recycling process. The glass will be collected, taken to a recycling plant and be crushed. The glass chips will then be melted and used to make new bottles. Recycling ensures that fewer natural resources are used and greatly reduces the amount of material that needs to be disposed of in landfill sites. It is estimated that glass makes up to 10% of the bulk of domestic refuse in developed countries.
