Channel Tunnel train at a station. The Channel Tunnel provides a rail link between Britain and France. Each train is 800 metres long and carries up to 180 cars or 28 lorries. The trains travel from London to Paris in about three hours. The trains travel at 140 kilometres (km) per hour through the 39km-long tunnel, whilst the top overland speed is 298km per hour.
