Flarecraft" ground-effect craft. View of the "Flarecraft" ground-effect craft "flying" over the surface of the sea. Ground-effect craft are a new form of transportation which use short wings to push the body of the craft clear of the surface on a cushion of air. Depending on its speed, this craft can "fly" at up to two metres above the surface. This method of travel is highly fuel efficient and can carry greater loads than a conventional aircraft or boat. The "Flarecraft" can travel at speeds of up to 170 kilometres per hour. The "Flarecraft" has been designed by the Flarecraft Corporation, based in Connecticut, USA."
