Personalised virtual twin sticking its tongue out. This virtual 3-D head can be used as an avatar to personalise computer displays, mobile telephones and computer game characters. The 3-D model is created from two views of a person's head. These views, one in profile and the other face-on, can then be combined using specialised software. The head is flexible, and can be manipulated to express emotions or simulate speech. This technology was created by Digimask, of Surrey, England.
