Virtual Reality in radiotherapy. A researcher using a Virtual Reality (VR) system to direct radiation beams in radiotherapy. The user may view the outline of the patient and the position of the target tumour from any angle, and so may direct the radiation beams very accurately. This could greatly reduce the possibility for damage to healthy tissue around the tumour site. This system is being developed at the Department of Computer Science at the University if North Carolina, USA.
