International Space Station astronaut Edward Tsang Lu (American, born 1963) next to the window of the Zvezda Service Module. Lu was the NASA ISS Science Officer for Expedition 7 (25 April to 27 October 2003) to the International Space Station (ISS). He was also Flight Engineer. During his time onboard the ISS, Lu took many photographs of the Earth. He used a digital camera, looking through a special optical quality window in the Destiny Laboratory Module of the ISS. The Earth is seen through the window seen here. The ISS orbits around 380 kilometres above the Earth. Photographed on 2 July 2003.
