Preparing Return to Flight" mission. Space shuttle Discovery arriving at Launch Pad 39B at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA, on 6 April 2005. A Crawler Transporter is bringing Discovery towards the structures at left that will enclose the shuttle to allow inspection. This is part of the preparations for mission STS-114, "Return to Flight", the first flight of a space shuttle since the space shuttle Columbia broke up on re-entry in February 2003. After Discovery arrived at the launch pad in April 2005, ice was discovered on its external fuel tank (orange). The shuttle was returned to its hanger (a process that is known as "rollback"), and launched on 26 July 2005."
